In the Sirmur region of state of Nahan, a great meditator named Rishi Kalpi resided in village Kalsi ( now in Uttaranchal) who was a great lover of Guru Nanak house having high foresightedness. Raja Medni Prakash of Nanah, being in great distress when approached him for solution of his problems, Kalpi Rishi advised him to invite Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, being successor of Guru Nanak in his state, in case he wished all his problems resolved. Guru Gobind Singh ji was at Anantpur Sahib at that time.Dasham Path Shah during his stay at Paonta Sahib, paid visit to Rishi’s place and brought the aged Rishi in a Golden Palanquin with him. It is here at Paonta Sahib that Rishi breathed his last in the sacred lap of Kalgi Dhar Patshah as desired by him.Guru Sahib got him cremated near his own camp and got built a raised platform in his memory.
